Hickory Hardwood Floors Refinished with Spice Brown Stain in Riverton

Here's what we were working with - hickory hardwood floors that had seen better days. Scratches, dull spots, uneven color, and a hallway that had no hardwood at all - just bare subfloor waiting for something new. This home needed a full overhaul, and that's exactly what we delivered.

We started with the hallway from scratch. Old flooring was pulled out, the subfloor was prepped, and new hickory hardwood was installed plank by plank. Getting new wood to flow seamlessly into existing floors takes real skill. The grain direction, board widths, and spacing all have to line up before a single drop of stain ever touches the wood.

Once the new wood was in place, we sanded the entire floor system down - existing hickory and new installation together. That's how you get a consistent surface. No ridges, no transitions, no obvious patches. Just one continuous floor running through the kitchen, living areas, and hallway.

Then came the Spice Brown stain. It's a warm, rich tone that pulls out the natural character of hickory beautifully. Hickory has strong grain patterns and natural color variation, and Spice Brown works with all of that instead of hiding it. We finished everything with a satin topcoat - smooth, even, and built to hold up to daily life.

The difference between where this floor started and where it ended up is exactly why hardwood floor refinishing and restoration is worth doing right. Good floors change how a space feels. This one went from worn and patchy to clean, warm, and cohesive - throughout the whole home.
